I've had speech therapy for as long as I can remember. It really didn't help me at all. It is different for each individual.I eventually stopped going a little while ago. I wonder if there are any speech therapist out there that have actually had a stuttering problem.

I had some speech therapy I was young and it was very helpful. In my experience it was invaluable in turning a severe stutter into a moderate one. After that, in my situation, I'm not sure on its value but everyone is diffrerent

Hey guys you are in luck cuz I am a Speech Language Pathologist (a glorified speech therapist :) ) I am working on my specialization in stuttering, YEAH!!! I have been doing fluency now for 4 years and have had 2-67 year olds….you bring up good questions….do you have insurance? Yes therapy is an expense…is it worth it YES, when you have someone good…. Can you make progress and change…YES! Is it a quick fix, as Juno said..”NO.”
Here is the problem…there are not enough speech therapists to go around, let alone knowledgeable in stuttering. Stuttering is a specialty area within our scope of practice, just an FYI.
So when you are ready for your online free homework, I am ready to give it….

I don't think stuttering can be "cured". You can learn how to control it, but there is no fool proof way to do it. All stuttering is different. The way I stutter is different from the way you stutter. To be able to control it well, you should see a speech therapist.
